We thought this low riding Ragtop looked excellent with its collection of accessories. Kind of a "Super DeLuxe" version of a Bug, with its homemade side molding!		Chris Perry uses a turbo and fuel injection system manufactured by Competition Engineering in Tempe, Ariz., under the decklid of his '56 Oval. The 2332cc delivered close to 300hp on CE's dyno.		About a dozen aircooled VWs drove all the way from Utah, including Chris Larson's IDA-fed '56. Hats off guys!
Remember this topless Fastback, featured in our June 2003 issue? Owner Neil Bledsoe was brave enough to make the stretch from the San Diego region. Thank goodness it didn't rain.		Best paint and first in the Radical Custom class went to John Chapp. His '66 Bug received the rear window from an Oval.		Pale yellow paint with red interior--what a great combo! This '67 belongs to Dennis Foronda of Carlsbad, home of one the few SoCal dragstrips still in existence.
		A few seconds after taking this picture, the VW Paradise dragster--utilizing a brand new chassis--blew the engine in a big way! Driver Kris Lauffer still managed to run a 6.97 on this pass.
		Since Chihiro Abe couldn't race his '66 Bug in Phoenix, racing legend Bill Duncan of EMS took on the responsibility of battling the small Super Street crowd!		Ray Medrano ended up in the finals of the Pro Mod category. This beast posts mid-9s on a regular basis.
